M06 - Home Page Navigation (part 2)

Here it is. Once school is done with I'm going to develop it into an actual site. I designed both desktop and mobile versions as we are in a very mobile world now. The only thing I'm not 100% certain about is the drop shadows in the boxes over the images - I may simply make them flat. What do you guys think?

Enjoy!

M06 - Home Page Navigation (part 1)

I've been wanting to redesign my site for awhile, however I've honestly just been too lazy. I knew going into this module exactly how I wanted my site to look after doing a lot of patterning. Below are my sketches - my website today is to showcase my acting career, however I'm more corporate than stage these days so I need to balance the two worlds. I plan on doing that with large images and sub sites that focus on each core area of my world.

Looking forward to getting this into Photoshop FINALLY.

Enjoy,

M05 - Avatar (part 2)

Here you go.

Lots of adjustment layers, hues, clipping masks, and other fun stuff.

I went the "elf" route.

I kind of look like Owen Wilson meets the joker.

Enjoy,

M05 - Avatar Part 1

I went into this knowing what I wanted to do, therefore my sketches are again less than the requirement.

To celebrate The Force Awakens, I decided to go the Star Wars route and create an avatar based on a character from that particular universe.

This should be fun.

Best.

Module 4 - Book Cover (part 2)

Based on feedback from part 1, I went the album route. I'm not 100% pleased with how this came out. I would have preferred to use photos of the albums instead of creating them in Photoshop, however I assume that would defeat the purpose of this class!

At any rate, enjoy.

Module 4 - Book Cover (part 1)

Hi all,

This was yet another tough one. I don't particularly find myself drawn to Jazz, Folk or modern classical (whatever that is) so I wasn't entirely sure who to focus on! I ended up going with Peter, Paul and Mary since I grew up near Paul Stookey's summer home in Maine. I don't know much of their music outside of Puff the Magic Dragon and I'm Leaving on a Jet Plane but it's a folk group so - win.

I only came up with three sketches for this:

1) Image of Peter, Paul and Mary (early or later - not sure yet).
2) Three mic stands on a stage
3) Their records
4) Okay I didn't draw a fourth but as I write this I would be remiss if I didn't offer up a cover with some sort of animated dragon on it, made of smoke perhaps? Ha.

At any rate, I thought an appropriate title for a biography on the trio would be: "The best of...", which is also the name of their greatest hits album.

Now that I think of it, "The best of..." could connote that there are no "worst of" moments in their lengthy career... although I do like playing this as a sort of "greatest hits" biography. I dunno, what do you guys think?

Best,
AP
